Here it is, finally. This thing took three weeks easy. I'd say one week was just spent watching the episodes looking for screen captures for reference for each part of the illustration. The pencils and putting everything together was pretty quick and smooth. Then about a week and a half ago, I started in photoshop on the colors. I spent at least two hours a day on this since then. What I'm getting at is that this was one of, if not most involved illustration I've ever done.
This is a homage to Drew Struzan's poster for "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. He's been my favorite artists for a long while, and I've always wanted to do a piece like this. I also wanted to do a Mythbusters-related illustration, because it's one of the few shows on tv I really watch. I guess it was Adam's fedora that really married the two ideas together. I hope somebody digs it.
Mythbusters are probably trademarked by Discovery.
that's a wonderful composition with good color mood ^^ i really appreciate the color mood ^^
all the figures are really lively, i guess bcos of your unique style ^^
great illustration
Thank you very much! I'm happy with the overall colors, it was a pretty tall order to attempt to simulate the color technique of Drew Struzan, and I don't think I fully pulled it off. But, looking at it as a standalone illustration, I think this may be my best piece.

Wow, I can see you put a lot of time and effort into this piece, and it was worth it - it looks excellent -very professional and convincing. But because the art is so good, the typography (logo) is now inadequate...
Your illustration is very handmade, and the logo is so computerized and gradient-colored that it doesn't fit the rest of this fine work.
LOL! I just turned around to my wife and read your post to her. It's funny because I thought this piece was done last night, but she didn't like the logo because the colors weren't blended enough. So she finally talked me into redoing it. Long story short, she added about three hours more work for me. I think it looks nice like this, though I can definitely see where you're coming from. Thanks for your time and kind words.

Wow, that's a great compliment, that you can recognize the illustrations of the people, even though you don't really watch the show / aren't very familiar with them.

Hmm, Kari looks a little to masculine, and Buster a bit feminine. Other than that, great job! Loving the mood, Indiana Jones theme, and Tory falling off the bike.
